BECOMING FERAL IS NO LONGER AN OPTION

The morning started with me being woken by the screams of those blasted seagulls that had put me in this position of vagrancy. I could see through the small opening in the bunker that it was daylight. As I looked around my heart sank. How could I have got myself into this position. I was a house cat, without a single feral bone in in my body. How was I going to survive? Looking closer at my surroundings, I noticed that I was sharing my overnight accommodation with my potential breakfast. A huge cobweb had been painstakingly created and caught in its sticky construction was a plethora of flies. These specimens were both large and small, with at least three...

NEW FRIEND, OR A VERY BAD DECISION

THIS MONTH'S BLOG IS DEDICATED TO ELIZABETH AND LUCY ROUTLEDGE. THE DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER OF THE INCREDIBLE, VALERIE BEX, WHO KINDLY RESCUED ME AFTER MY ELEVEN WEEK ORDEAL, ENSURING MY SAFE RETURN HOME.  It was a beautiful sunny day. The sky was deep blue and the sun was warm on my back. I wasn't sure what to expect today, though with a positive head and a spring in my step I was looking forward to my newly found independence. I was no longer wary of the seagulls that squawked above my head, heading out to sea on their hunt for food. I was on a mission to find my way home and this was my prime focus. Nothing else mattered....

FIELD MICE CAN BE SO BOSSY

I was getting bored, having to wait for Kevin to wake from what seemed to be a very deep sleep, Judging by the loud snoring permeating from where he was laid on his back. How this wasn't uncomfortable with those large spikes I'll never know. It was about 4pm and my patience was waning. I walked slowly over to where Kevin lay and cleared my throat, loudly. No response, nothing at all. I tried again. This time my mouth almost touching his left ear. With this Kevin shot up. He was no longer a hedgehog but a perfectly circular ball of needles. This was one party trick anyone would be proud of. Then, as quickly as he had transformed into...

ON A WING AND A PRAYER

Now, as a cat, I have limited medical expertise. However, I do know that you should never add milk to your diet when you are lactose intolerant. Due to my bad decision making I had been up for most of the night with both stomach cramps and projectile vomiting. One thing I had noticed however, during my nocturnal exploits is how annoying hedgehogs can be. Kevin had spent most of the night using his long nose to hunt for food morsels. Burrowing into the loose leaves that lay on the floor of the wooded area, where we had stopped to rest. This created a crunching noise that was worse than listening to him slurp at his bread and milk mix...

BACK TO SCHOOL

Once again this month's  blog is dedicated to the amazing Valerie Bex. Valerie and Mog found each other when Mog was at her most vulnerable. Because of Valerie, not only do we have Troggers back in mine and Andrew's lives, but as a result we now have the privilege of having Lizzie, Chris and Lucy in our lives too. We consider ourselves very blessed. Xx   As the days turned into weeks it seemed that it was only a matter of time before I became so weak, through lack of food, that I would no longer be able to survive my ordeal. Food was scarce, with my diet mainly consisting of spiders. With the onset of autumn, Daddy Long Legs...
